 Your Role as a Logic Java Developer

There is never a typical day at Logic, but that’s why people love it here! As a new Logic Java Developer, you’ll work alongside clients as you help them make a real difference to their customers: your friends, family and neighbors. You will use a variety of tools to translate customer needs into solution capabilities - including, but not limited to, gathering and documenting business needs of the client, configuring the applications, coding, troubleshooting, providing system demonstrations, testing, training and driving process engineering.
Seeing as this is a highly interactive, complex role; you will be able to use your strong analytical, coding, communication, problem solving, and business skills. You’ll work with our retail customers to identify their challenges and collaborate with your Logic colleagues to develop and craft solutions. You might spend your day:
  • Working closely with retail business/functional SME to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  •  Providing advice, best practices and guidance to clients in regard to achieving their goals
  •  Working with other software developers to design and implement application enhancements, using Java code. 
  •  Maintain and enhance applications on an ongoing basis per user/customer feedback
  •  Ensuring that unit and system tests are automated, per quality assurance requirements
  •  Collaborating as necessary to define and implement regression test suites
  •  Optimize performance and growth as necessary to meet business goals of application and environment
  •  Contributing to the Logic collective wisdom via project documentation to ensure consistency on customer projects
  •  Establish and monitor systems support and development processes, while delivering Micros development best practice solutions
  • Supporting team environment by collaborating with others to move forward with the client’s best interests
  •  Effectively communicating with peers, superiors, and clients in a way that drives deliverables forward and maintains open communication lines
  •  Completing required weekly administrative tasks including, individual status report and time and expense entry

  • A Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years working with an object-oriented development language (Java)
  • Working knowledge of database design and SQL (Query Language)
  • Working knowledge of XML
  • Experience with POS solutions preferred
  • Excellent listener, and a strong verbal and written communicator
  • Experience providing technical leadership on complex projects
  • Willingness to learn in a fast-paced business environment
  • Industry-specific knowledge in retail is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to work independently
  • A professional image
  • Ability to travel (50%+) as needed
